Significant improvements to the water treatment plant were made to increase the drinking water output from 21 million gallons per day (MGD) to 30 MGD using membrane filtration, a newer treatment technology considered the wave of the future for drinking water purification.
This complex project included construction of a membrane treatment facility and installation of membrane equipment; upgrade of the raw water pumping station; construction of new electrical switchgear room; new engine generator facility and installation of diesel generators; improvements to the existing residual solids building; renovations to the existing chemical facilities; and construction of site improvements.
